Sail Turkey/Fethiye to Marmaris Gulet Cruise
TOUR DETAILS
A full week at sea isn't for everyone. Our Fethiye to Marmaris gulet trip is tailored for those who want the true Turkish sailing experience in a more efficient, four night timeframe.
The journey travels along one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful and sheltered coastlines. Starting in Fethiye, we sail through the famous Göcek island chain before heading toward the natural wonders of the Dalyan delta and finishing our voyage in the bustling port of Marmaris.
We keep the pace steady and relaxed. Your time is divided between swimming in open waters, enjoying fresh lunches on deck, and cruising between quiet bays. It’s a short break that feels like a full holiday, perfectly balancing discovery with rest.
The lifestyle on board is comfortable and social. This is a high-standard cabin charter featuring private en-suite cabins and overnight air-conditioning offering much more than a basic boat crossing. It is a great choice for professionals, couples, and solo travelers looking for a quality atmosphere.
Because of its duration, this route fits easily into a larger travel plan. It’s simple to combine with a stay in Istanbul or a trip to Cappadocia. If you are looking for a shorter gulet cruise that doesn’t skip the best swim stops or local culture, this is the ideal itinerary.

This short Turkey sailing holiday is ideal for travellers combining multiple destinations
- Day 1
Your journey starts at 15:00 in Fethiye. After a quick welcome from the crew and meeting your fellow passengers, you’ll have time to settle into your cabin. As soon as the harbor paperwork is handled, the gulet glides out of the marina, trading the busy shoreline for the open Mediterranean.
The initial stretch of sailing is all about relaxation. By late afternoon, we reach the calm, bright waters of Tarzan Bay. This first stop is the perfect moment to dive in, use the rope swings, and finally feel the shift into holiday mode. There is no better way to leave the world behind than that first swim in the turquoise sea.
As evening arrives, dinner is served outdoors on the deck with the pine-covered hills as your backdrop. Later, the front deck turns into a relaxed social space under the stars ideal for a quiet drink and conversation as the water laps against the boat. It is a smooth, high-quality introduction to the Fethiye-to-Marmaris route.
- Day 2
Start your morning in the peaceful waters of Tarzan Bay before we head toward the Göcek archipelago. This famous group of protected islands is the heart of the Turkish sailing experience. The morning navigation is all about the view relax on deck as the pine covered coastline passes by while we weave through the island chain.
Our first major stop is Cleopatra’s Bath, a legendary site where you can float above ancient stone structures that sit just below the waterline. It’s a unique mix of heritage and nature. Afterward, we sail to Bedri Rahmi Bay, a location well known for the artist’s fish mural painted onto the rocks, surrounded by lush green hills.
The afternoon is spent at Tersane (Shipyard) Island, a spot steeped in maritime heritage with clear, waist deep areas that are perfect for snorkeling. As the day winds down, the gulet anchors near the sophisticated village of Göcek. This elegant marina hub is the perfect place for an evening walk or to sample traditional flavors at a waterfront table.
This is exactly what a short sailing break should be: effortless discovery and total relaxation.
- Day 3
Following a slow paced morning cruise, we arrive at Ekincik Bay, a secluded and spacious anchorage that offers a break from the more crowded routes. The bay is famous for its glassy, deep waters perfect for a mid day swim, a session on the paddleboards, or just finding a quiet corner on deck to enjoy the vast blue horizon.
For a deeper look into the local culture, you can join a guided boat excursion through the Dalyan riverways. You’ll switch to a smaller river craft to navigate the labyrinth of tall reeds leading to Iztuzu Beach, a vital nesting site for loggerhead turtles. The highlight for many is the view of the ancient Lycian tombs towering above the water, sculpted directly into the mountain faces. Before rejoining our main gulet, there is also time to experience the area’s natural mud pools, valued for their therapeutic properties.
The day concludes with a peaceful evening back on the water. As the light fades over the bay, we serve a local catch of the day meal on the open deck. It’s a moment that captures the understated luxury and quiet rhythm of a high quality Turkish sailing holiday.
- Day 4
We start the day at Kumlubük, a bay celebrated for its mirror-like surface and intense blue hues. If you’re feeling active, a morning trek to the Amos archaeological site is highly recommended; the clifftop views overlooking the Mediterranean are some of the finest on the entire coast.
Once everyone is back on the vessel, we navigate past the forested coastline approaching Paradise Island. This creates the perfect backdrop for our final afternoon dip and a quiet tea service on deck. It is a peaceful window of time to appreciate the slow pace of life at sea before we reach the mainland.
As the sun begins to set, the landscape changes as we enter Marmaris harbour. This iconic port is a blend of old-world charm and modern energy, featuring a historic castle, a bustling waterfront, and an array of seaside restaurants. It is a significant destination that marks the transition from the quiet coves to the vibrant social scene of the Riviera.
The evening is yours to design. Whether you prefer an elegant meal docksides, sunset drinks, or exploring the local nightlife, the night offers a refined way to wrap up the Fethiye-to-Marmaris route.
- Day 5
Your journey concludes in the calm surroundings of Marmaris Marina. We enjoy one last breakfast together on the deck as the port begins its morning routine. It’s a final chance to take in the coastal air before we head back to shore.
Check-out is at 09:30, following the morning meal. After exchanging contact details with new friends and saying goodbye to the crew, the organized part of the trip ends. What started as a short break often results in a lifelong appreciation for the Turkish coastline.
Once you leave the gulet, the choice is yours. You can explore the historic streets of Marmaris, arrange your transfer to the airport, or continue your Turkish adventure in another region. You leave the boat with a refreshed perspective and the unique rhythm of the sea still in your mind.
